Loyalty Programs and Recession

With this downturn in economy, loyalty cards are in vogue once again.

With plunging footfalls and receding sales, retailers are re-thinking about their loyalty programs. Some retailers are promoting their loyalty cards aggressively. In West, many retailers are re-launching their loyalty cards with improved benefits (read - more points per transaction).

While others are debating whether investment on loyalty cards in worth it or not. Discounters are promoting their heavy discounts unabashdely.  These discounters do not believe in investing in loyalty cards as customers do not find much value in it and results do not justify investments.

Economic Times carried an interesting article on this trend.

agreed totally..any person will only invest if he is getting a good ROI out of it.

There are loyalty programs which are really nice, but some of them are just for the sake of it...probably just to save marketing managers job...as they are not at all effective.

Most loyalty programs are a waste of time. Usually the fine print is full of conditions that make it impossible to redeem anything - so just not worth it.

I believe you did a post earlier which was similar .... loyalty programs are mostly useless...especially when you do not read what is in between the lines ... Delta NWA merger is one such example where loyal NWA passengers like myself are not sure what to/ what not to expect next !!

Though I personally do not believe in loyalty programs but can there be a gender divide here???
I mean females liking it more then males???
The reason I say this is because I have seen some women (expecially my mom!!) who believe it to be a good concept!

    Hi there!
I would like to burn a theme at here. There is such a thing, called HYIP, or High Yield Investment Program. It reminds of ponzy-like structure, but in rare cases one may happen to meet a company that really pays up to 2% daily not on invested money, but from real profits.

For several years , I earn money with the help of these programs.
I don't have problems with money now, but there are heights that must be conquered . I get now up to 2G a day , and my first investment was 500 dollars only.
Right now, I managed to catch a guaranteed variant to make a sharp rise . Turn to my blog to get additional info.
