My first day was exciting. I met 2 other people who were also new and we hit it off from day one.
It helps to dress well, be very polite to everybody and offer to help. There was a guy who talked a lot and nobody could stand him. So I guess on the first day, one should keep certain thoughts to oneself.

My first day at work was back in bombay in gtl it was exiting and fun.My trainers gave me hard time but thats ok you learn from scrath.

but then i totally agree to what LEB says add to that:
a)go with an open mind, dont have stiff set expectations.
b)always be open to learning.
c)keep your data right!

This is a true story
One of my classmates went for his first day at work in a big bank. Wearing a tie which no student is used to. While waiting he was offered a cup of tea. Had to happen that his tie dipped into the cup of tea. In panic he tried to remedy the situation and instead emptied the entire cup on his new white shirt. And then the boss walked in .....
