GoAir plane had a miraculous save on Friday. Crew staff was not accustomed to handle such kind of situations. But air hostesses were able to smile and reassure customers that they are safe.
According to one customer
"The young airhostesses, clearly not used to handling such emergencies, were visibly shaken but managed to smile for us."
Smile of crew was only ray of hope for passengers in airborne plane. Smile of staff/salesman/customer service person can metamorphose an ordinary service to extraordinary.
Richard Branson's Virgin Blue advertised for hiring of crew staff differently.
"If you can smile after a long and tough day, then you are the kind of cabin crew we are looking for."
You can teach people relevant skills but cannot teach them smile. There lies the difference between ordinary service and outstanding service.
